Have you tried hundreds of recipes online on how to make Jasmine rice in the pressure cooker or instant pot? I have too, that is, until I discovered this method. How To Make Jasmine Rice In A Pressure Cooker – NOT MUSHY!
I have tried many different rice recipes, and methods. Also, the argument as to rinse or not rinse your rice has been circulating the internet for quite sometime. So, I have found the perfect recipe to result each in every time in NON MUSHY rice!
Should I Rinse My Rice?
I am on team, do not rinse. Because, rinsing your rise just adds more liquid, and throws off the ratios of rice to water. Every time I try the rice rinsing method, then my rice comes out mushy. Also, rinsing your Jasmine rice strips it of some of it’s valuable nutrients. So, as long as you are using a good quality Jasmine Rice, I recommend not rinsing it before cooking.
What Causes My Rice To Get Mushy?
Mushy rice is typically a result of either over cooked rice. Or, secondly, rice that was cooked with too much liquid. So, make sure to measure the rice and water when you are making it!

It has a delicate floral aroma and a slightly sticky texture when cooked, making it the perfect accompaniment to a variety of dishes. What If My Pressure Cooker Doesn’t Have A Rice Button?
Never fear, if your pressure cooker doesn’t have a rice button! This recipe does not use the rice button. In fact, I have never been happy with any rice made using the rice button function on my pressure cooker.
