My Grandma’s Easy Peach Cobbler Made With Fresh Milled Flour

This fresh Peach Cobbler made with fresh milled flour is so easy it comes together in less than 15 minutes, plus baking time. I found this recipe in my Grandma’s box of recipes, and I am so glad that I did! I love having this delicious recipe in my tool box for a quick easy dessert that I can change with the seasons and holidays!

This is one of the quickest dump and go dessert recipes that I have made in a long time! And, the best part is, it is made with freshly milled wheat, and fresh peaches. So, it is packed with wonderful nutrients! Also, this recipe can be changed up with so many different flavor options!

Easy Dump & Go Fresh Milled Flour Cobbler Recipe

So, I consider this a dump and go recipe, because I basically just dump all the ingredients in layers, and then bake it. This recipe does not require a mixer, and is ready to go into the oven in less than 15 minutes.

So here I have the melted butter, then sliced peaches, then dry flour mixture, and lastly the water right over the top. Then a quick stir of the dry ingredients and water, then a little sprinkle of cinnamon to finish it off!

Ingredients To Make Peach Cobbler With Fresh Milled Flour

  • 1/2 cup butter 113g (1 stick)
  • 4-6 sliced peaches (fresh or frozen (thawed), you can decide if you would like to leave the skin on or peel them.)
  • 1 cup fresh milled flour 120g (I use my AP Flour Blend HERE.)
  • 1&1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt (If using unsalted butter)
  • 1 cup sugar 200g + 2 TBSP (25g) for sprinkling on peaches
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon + some for sprinkling on top
  • 1 cup water 240g

I love this recipe so much, not only because it was my beloved grandmother’s cobbler recipe. But, also because it is so quick and easy. I basically just dump all the ingredients in layers, and go. Here I am melting the butter in the pan as I preheat it in the oven.

Instructions To Make Peach Cobbler With Fresh Milled Flour

  1. Firstly, mill the flour, I like to use my AP Flour Blend. *See notes
  2. Slice fresh peaches OR you can use thawed frozen peach slices.
  3. Sprinkle the peach slices with the 2 TBSP sugar, and then stir to coat all the peaches. (You could use honey instead if you prefer.)
  4. Preheat you oven to 350* F with a 9×13 OR 12 inch cast iron pan with the butter in it. This will melt the butter as your oven preheats.
  5. As soon as the butter is melted, then pour the sliced peaches directly onto the melted butter.
  6. Add the baking powder, sugar, salt (if using unsalted butter), and cinnamon to the flour, and stir to combine.
  7. Sprinkle the dry ingredients evenly over the peaches.
  8. Pour the water over the dry ingredients, and gently with a spoon stir the water into the dry flour, trying to be careful not to stir the peaches into it. (You are making a top layer over top of the peach layer.
  9. Sprinkle a little cinnamon over the top.
  10. Bake for 45 mins to and 1 hour or until golden brown.
  11. Serve warm, you can enjoy by itself, or add some ice cream!

How To Store This Fresh Milled Flour Peach Cobbler

While this fresh milled flour peach cobbler dessert is best enjoyed warm and fresh, to store cover and place in the fridge for up to 4 days. For longer storage, cover and place in freezer for up to 3 months. To thaw, warm in microwave or oven until heated through. Enjoy!

My Grandma’s EASY Peach Cobbler Made With Fresh Milled Flour

Flour: My favorite AP Flour Blend is 1/3 Kamut, 1/3 soft white & 1/3 hard wheat. You can use most any flour or blend you prefer for this.
