Firstly, mill the flour.
Preheat the oven to 350*F
To the flour, add baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Then, stir to combine.
To a Large mixing bowl, add apple cider, melted butter, oil, brown sugar, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Then, whisk until smooth.
Next, add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, and stir to combine. It should be a smooth batter.
Spray donut pan with oil.
Then, fill the donut pan wells about 2/3 full. I like to use a piping bag, I think it makes it easier. But, piping bags are not required.
Bake for 12-14 minutes. The edges of the donuts should be slightly pulling away from the edge of the pan when done.
Let the donuts cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to finish cooling.
Continue with another batch until all the batter is gone.
After the donuts have cooled (about another 20 minutes of cooling on the wire racks) make the cinnamon and sugar coating.
To make the cinnamon sugar coating, melt the butter.
In a separate small bowl, mix together the sugar, cinnamon, salt, and apple pie spice if you are using.
Brush the melted butter on the apple cider donuts all over, then place the donut in the cinnamon sugar coating. Coat the donut, then gently shake off any loose cinnamon sugar. Repeat with each donut.
Lastly, enjoy!
